Hope Hemminger-Fluharty

Coach Hope has been with the University of Dayton since 2001 where she spent her first year as the assistant coach. In her second year, coach Hope took over the program as Head Coach.

Hope's expertise in choreography, gymnastics, dance and cheerleading has led her to be a competition judge for both regional and national competitions. She has been a choreographer for many local high schools over the past 10 years. Hope taught summer camps as an instructor for AmeriCheer from 1993 – 1998. She has also served several years as the event coordinator and judge for US Spirit Nationals and the MC for their cheer competition at the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio.

Hope cheered at Wright State University from 1994-1999. In her years at WSU, she was part of the nationally ranked competition squad that finished 2nd, 11th, 7th, 4th, and 9th respectively at UCA and NCA Collegiate Nationals. Hope wears a national championship ring as she danced as part of the WSU Emerald Jazz Dance Team that holds the title of 1995 UDA National Collegiate Dance Team Champions. In 1999 Hope, along with her stunt partner, also became champions of the MCC (now Horizon League) Conference Partner Stunt competition.

Hope was also a member of the 2000 Cincinnati Bengals cheerleaders.

Coach Hope received her Masters of Business Administration Degree from Wright State University in 2004. Her undergraduate degree is also from Wright State in Mass Communications with minors in both Business and Spanish.

Hope now resides in Centerville, Ohio with her husband, Heath. Hope works full time in Patient Satisfaction and Customer Service for Grandview Medical Center.
