The Spring Tryouts for the 2008-09 Season will be held April 19 & 20, 2008. The purpose of the tryout is to select the best overall individuals for the University of Dayton Cheerleading Squads. A slightly different criterion is used for each squad. The tryout process includes a day where you will learn new material and we will evaluate your stunting skills, gymnastics skills, as well as your performance of the newly learned material. During the clinic, elimination of participants (cuts) will be made by the coaches, as they deem appropriate. The second day will include an interview process and a formal tryout judged by the panel of experts. When selecting our cheerleaders, we are looking for individuals that demonstrate proper technical skills in stunting and gymnastics, the ability to communicate well, excellent athletic abilities, noteworthy cheerleading experience, and poise.
